Getting Started and Staying On Track

“Anytime you sincerely want to make a change, the first thing you must do is to raise your standards.” Anthony Robbins

This is the page that will help you decide if you are ready to make a change in your lifestyle to lose weight, and it will help you set goals and make a contract with yourself.

So are you ready to change?
Losing weight or getting fitter requires more than a few enthusiastic bursts of eating well and spasmodic activity. It requires a change in your lifestyle. After all, it is your current lifestyle that has got you to where you are now.

So if you want to lose weight you have to change your lifestyle.
Are you ready for this? Let’s find out.

  1. Are you prepared to write down your goals and keep food and activity logs Yes/No
  2. Are you ready to change the way you eat and think about food? Yes/No
  3. Are you ready to get more active? Yes/No
  4. Are you confident you can fit your food and activity goals into your lifestyle, around work and family commitments? Yes/No
  5. Are you motivated to change how you feel and/or look? Yes/No

If you answered yes to 4 or 5, you are ready to go for it. If you answered yes to 3 of these you may need to think about what may be holding you back. If you answered yes to less than 3 of these, are you really ready to make a change? How much do you want it?

Let’s set some goals!

“If you fail to plan, you plan to fail”

Tips

  • Your goals are your plan of attack.
  • They are written statements that guide you to achieve.
  • They help you set time frames
  • When you implement your goals, focus on what you are going to do (I am going to eat 2 pieces of fruit) rather than what you are not going to do (I am not going to eat chocolate)
  • If you find it to overwhelming, make small changes over time, once they are a habit set some more goals
